And... Relax!

It's Saturday.  I made it through the week.  Go Me.  Three sick kids. A sick Mr. L & as always me, battling it off just enough to take care of everyone & everything! Ugh.  But I did it.  I rocked it.

This week I finished a custom order for 3 pairs of ballet flats for a wedding coming up on September 18th.  I love how they came out!  Now of course Miss Emma wants herself a pair too!
After getting these done and sent right out I moved onto making two pairs of ruffle pants.  The lady I made them for choose some of the cutest fabrics I've worked with yet.  Might have to order more yds of  it so I can make some for Emma & some to sell.  I just love doing custom orders.  They are much more fun knowing that someone is actually going to have them, rather then me making it and hoping someone likes it!  I am now offering in my shop ruffle pants for just $15 plus Shipping and YOU get to pick the fabrics!

I was also working on the reversible vest pattern that I blogged about.  It's going to look really  great when the boys have bow ties to match it & Emma wearing a coordinating dress.  Family photos this year are going to be very special.
If you want a vest & matching bow tie and dress for your little ones definitely leave me a comment or find me and contact on facebook or etsy.  I would love to do a custom order for YOU!

Also during all this crazyness I got some wonderful new designs which you may or may not have noticed in my Etsy Shop, on my facebook page & just now on the blog for my side icon that when clicked on takes you to my shop.  I just love my business cards.  ELLy Designs did such a great job.  I would suggest you stop over at her site and check it out.  Or find her on facebook to see some of the work she has done.  She rocks.  If you don't have a business that needs a facelift she also does some beautiful things with greeting cards, stickers & invites too!

Seriously I got so much done this week I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time (which was probably a good thing since I was glued in front of my sewing machine & computer doing now house work! Pee-yew!) and now finally I have a minute to breath... And... Relax!

On friday when all my custom orders where done I had a minute to make a Eat.Burp.Wash &Repeat Set for my Etsy shop.  It has super soft minkee on the back and  I love the aqua and brown fabric!

Missing Something...

I again had the privilege of doing a pattern test for Little Lizard King.  I love her patterns.   Lots of my items are created from her wonderful patterns.  She has such great instructions that are easy to follow & if I get stuck on something she is able to answer any questions just an email away.
So first off this pattern for the Reversible Vest is AWESOME!  Right away the instructions are just like her other patterns detailed and thorough.  The thing I am loving about some of Little Lizard Kings more recent patterns are that she is using actual patterns, not just measurements.  I was able to print, cut & tape the pattern.  I loved how fast this project came together.  As I didn't have on hand the buttons suggested in the pattern I ended up making this a non-reversible vest with just some regular buttons.
I love how it came out... and yes it just about matches my curtains.

Cody once trying it on was looking quiet dapper.  Yes. I would say so.  I let him wear my glasses for the picture.  Looked perfect ... but it was missing something... A pocket and perhaps a pocket watch...
I made this in the size 6 Years.  Though I am not sure if Cody is big for a six year old or is the pattern a bit small?  Or does this vest look right?  He could get it on no problem but I am thinking it may have been a bit short.
I absolutely LOVED making this pattern.  I cannot wait to make more and probably some matching bow ties to go with.  Christmas photos are going to rock this year!

Call Me Doctor Mom

I opened up our nightly homework folder.  My first grader Cody usually has some worksheets on the "Keep At Home" side.  This time I was sort of impressed with how colorful his pictures have become.  He doesn't usually take his time and add much detail.  He leaves that for Jack.  With Cody, everything is a giant race... even if he half-asses it gives it his best, in his book he wins!

So behind this lovely piece of artwork I find out that I am... a Doctor.  Yes.  A doctor & I am married to a cop!  When I read it out-loud Cody immediately runs off and hides.  Telling me, oh wait I forgot you don't do anything.  Gee thanks.  I liked the doctor title better.  And as for dad being a cop, well I didn't know what he did for work so I just wrote cop.

Hump.  You think his teacher now honestly believes this?

I explained to Cody that I do make them feel better, fix boo-boos & remove slivers with pins!  So I guess I am like a doctor.  You can just call me Doctor Mom.  While Dad does "police" the kids so he is like a cop. Right?

Well Jack just hit the top of his head on our overhanging sink.  Ice Stat. I am off to be Doctor Mom.
*Disclaimer:     For those who are about to call social services I have already taken care of my child back at sentence #2.  Then continued to write this after calming him & putting ice on his boo-boo.*

Weekend RePlay

I know I am late... again.  Figured instead of going to bed I better write it now... before I forget.  Not to write it, but what I actually did this weekend.  Mommy Brain.
Umm. Yes. I already forgot.  Good thing I took a few pictures.  This should refresh my memory.

Friday after the kiddies got off the bus we loaded up in the car & went to Rack Room Shoes.  Mr. L had some big plans for Cody & himself for bright and early Saturday morning.  Too bad he forgot his alarm was too cool for him & doesn't go off on weekends unless you tell it to.  Cody was up with his super cool internal alarm clock.  (This can be a good or bad thing.  Depending on how you look at it.  Today.  Good.)
So bright & early, err, after they rolled out of bed... they went for a parachute run.  It's just how it sounds for those wondering.  There is a parachute & you RUN!  Attached to your back.
I am sure Cody was so proud and happy to be out there running with his Daddy.  I bet Daddy was proud of him too! Cody LOVED it
He was trying to rub it in Jack & Emma's faces all day.  But Princess Emma didn't seem to mind.  Why? Just because she got herself some "Twinkle Toes Sketchers."

...And they will make her super fast at running.

Then to console Jack from all the face rubbing.  As promised the night before we all went to the park in town.  Emma decided that this would be the perfect time for us to have a picnic & so we did.  Guess what!  I didn't bring my camera!
Sunday was our typical lazy day.  Only going out to return & pick out new library books.  Steak & Chicken out on the grill.  Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Salad.  I personally love Sundays.  Yummy food.  Lazy Days.  New books to entertain the kids at bed time.  Baths for the kiddies.  And perhaps best of all.... Early to Bed.

Mr. L hates Sundays.  It means Monday is in the morning.
I love Sundays.  It means Monday is in the morning.

Jack planted this from seed on his birthday.
Its the biggest plant in our shade garden this year.

...These are my carnations.  Wasn't till this year that I even realized you could grown them here... outside.  Actually I have just never seen them for sale.  Only as cut flowers...

Sunday was a true "Sun" Day.  We had lots of fun in the kiddie pool & the kids even helped me clean up the yard... mowing in the morning.  They didn't want to lose a toy!

This hangs in the tree in my shade garden.  I think its cute. Even if it is dirty!
That's Emma's sweet little bird house that Aunt Steph bought her.  No birds have even flown near those boots.  They have hung there for three years untouched.

Well now that I refreshed my memory on what I did this weekend and gave you all the replay it's time for me to go to sleep.  I have lots of custom orders to do this week.  And have to find time to fit in a pattern test that I am just too excited about.  Its a vest.  I cannot wait.  Just wish I had some fabric that I loved.  Why is all the fabric so girly?

Until my next post....

Autumn Styles

I've been crafting like crazy the last couple of weeks ... and  I feel I have come up with some real cute items here.  I am seriously in love with these boots.  Then pair them up with a super cute 3/4 Length dress and look what you get.  An outfit any little girl would feel like a princess in!

This set is made from the Robert Kaufman Chirp designed by Katie Hennagir. 100% Kona Cotton.  I love it!  Its in size 6-9 Months.
You can view this exact set for purchase in my ButterBeans&ChicPeas shop.

I've been told and I must humbly agree... these boots make the outfit!  I love that they are lined with flannel so they are comfy with or without socks.  I know my princess have never been a fan of the dreaded SOCKS!

The Brown & Creme Damask Print again lined with flannel is perfect for fall.  Boys or Girls will be cute in these.

I love these... Halloween Candy for your Babes Feet.

*shoes are ithinksew & sweetpea patterns.  *the adorable dress is a littlelizardking pattern.
