Pattern Test: Princess Ruffle Dress

Now this pattern I love.  I was a bit intimidated I will admit, when "Littlelizardking" came to me and asked me to do the test... then told me it was for an "advanced" sewer.  -- Oh yikes.  I don't know if that's me?   But.  I did complete the dress.  So I guess maybe I am.  ha - ha.  Don't let me get a big head.

A bit time consuming.  But that could be my lake of attention to one thing at a time.  Or because I had my mom in town, a giveaway and just - flat out three kiddies to take care of!

I am not one that loves the ruffles.  I don't mind making things with ruffles, so that's not it.  It's just I am not a frilly - fluffy - kind of gal.  This dress though - is - so - ruffly - cute!  I just love it.

And Miss Emma makes it even cuter -- can it be?

Weekend RePlay

Nana came to town -- So, this was an exciting weekend. Starting right off with Friday afternoon.  Emma was so excited.  We went to the boys school and had lunch together.  They were so excited for it & to see Nana.  They dressed up and wore the ties I made them.  They were looking so dapper
Friday after lunch and couple minutes on the playground -- Emma got -- her big girl car seat!  She was so HAPPY, thrilled to have a seat like the boys & to use the regular seat belt.  How great!

We picked the boys up from the bus stop and headed over to the hotel where we all had a room for the night.  We had dinner.  Went swimming & got to bed because Saturday we had plans to go to the Pumpkin Patch!

Hotel breakfast.  Blah.  Waiting on coffee to brew. Blah.  A quick swim before check out & then we were on our way to the Pumpkin Patch!  Yah!  Hay Mazes, Bunnies, Goats, Chickens, a Hay Ride & picking out pumpkins.  Bounce houses & a super giant slide.  Everyone had a fun time and we all came home with "perfect" pumpkins.  Dinner at Hibachi Grill, baseball in the front yard & books and hot tea inside to warm up.  Then we said our goodbyes to Nana and she headed back to the hotel for the night.

Me and The Kiddies we picked out our Pumpkins.

Riding on a Chicken.  --- Say What?

Waiting in line to get on the super big slide.  Everyone looks excited.  Cody came down first.  He looked like he really LOVED his ride down.  Then came Jack.  -- We could hear him all the way from the top SCREAMING.  We couldn't tell if he liked it or not.  Until he got to the end and had a HUGE smile on his face.  I think he LOVED it.
Then came Nana and Emma Lou -- together.  Emma loved it too!

The Farm Animals... Emma sure does make a CUTE piglet!

On the ride home the kiddies enjoyed some candy... and the boys got WAX lips!  Crazy Kids!
Sunday we played outside and couldn't wait to see Mr. L.  He spent the weekend in Oklahoma for the OU Sooners Football Game!  Boomer Sooner!

Nana made a surprise stop on her way out of town for one last goodbye.  Then the kids and I had dinner played outside for a bit & it was time for my favorite.  Baths, Pj's, teeth, & stories in bed.

And then 11 o'clock came. And Mr. L was home. Great way to finish my weekend.

Dear Blog

Dear Blog,
How I have neglected thee.  I have had the best intentions and thought daily of you.  Have made it in my plans to sit and write all over you.  And then... nothing.  Just nothing.  I feel oh so bad.  Please forgive me.  I promise to never treat you this way again. I will attempt to write more frequently.

Here is what I have been doing -- while NOT blogging.

I got to have a wonderful tea party with this sweet little lady. :)  She was a fabulous host. We had animal cracker "soup" and raspberry green tea.  And just look at how happy she was to be hosting a tea party with her mama.

Emma gave the pug some driving lessons.
I spent an entire day cleaning and organizing my "sewing studio."  It came out looking real nice & I can find the fabric I am looking for now.  Not have to rummage through boxes of folded fabric.  I also had so much space on my desk that I was actually able to lay out the fabric and cut the pattern to make these simply adorable black ruffle shoes for one of my most frequent ButterBeans&ChicPeas SHOE shoppers. :)  She has one stylish babe.

Last Saturday night Mr. L took us all out to the drive in.  We saw Alpha & Omega and the next feature was You Again.  They weren't the greatest movies... but we all had a super fun time.  Eating too salty popcorn, candy & sitting out under the stars, staying warm under the blankets.

I even seemed to find time to trim the shrubs.  Now my mums have room to grow.

I made this super cute set for a great customer that provided me some photos of her cute lil' guy in his new boots!!  Can't wait to see him in this set.  It is so stinking cute!  Look at the appliqued tie.  Amazing.
 -- I love it.
Others must love it too!  I almost immediately was requested to make one for someone  lil' guy &  two ties for her bigger lil' guys!!  They too came out GREAT

This apple pie was the BEST apple pie I have ever made.  I used several different types of apples squeezed lemon on them and cinnamon, sugar & brown sugar.  No butter.  Eggs & milk on top to make it "brown."  We all LOVED it.
So now that I have caught up on the last two weeks. -- Hopefully I can "find" the time to blog about this last weekend... You know before the next weekend sneaks up on me!

Weekend RePlay

Saturday morning Great-Grandma got set to leave after a two week stay in NC with the L Family.  I am pretty sure she enjoyed her time & that the kiddies weren't too much for her to handle while Mr. L and I were gone to Vegas.  Looks like she survived right.  (And me too!)

Later on Saturday Emma realized she was a little sad.  She was sitting out in the rocking chair and told Cody she was sad because Great-Grandma wasn't here.

They have been talking about moving "south" since I was twelve... maybe one of these days they will just up and do it already!

After dropping Gramma off at the airport we caught up on our shopping at Costco & Aldis!  Came home and unpacked groceries.  I think we forgot to eat dinner.  (Well the kids had chicken nuggets!)  Mr. L and I ended up having tortilla chips while watching The Killers after getting the kiddies to bed.

Sunday was spent sewing, at the library checking out new books & of course getting some coffees.  Decided to do the dunkin' donuts because we had coupons.  They f'd up our order.  Seriously repeated it TWO times to them.  They repeated it back and then gave us two iced beverages anyways.  Should of stuck with McCafe.  The price without coupon still would of been less then dd with the coupon.

With iced coffees in hand with the chilly 50 degree weather we headed into Target to shop for PANTS!  Yes.  It is COLD out there.  We have to buy our little Jack some pants.  He grew out of his from last year & Cody ruins every pair of pants he owns.  That said Jack now has 2 pairs of pants & both of the boys have new under-roonies!  Cody was sure to remember this when he got out of the shower all fresh and with a nice new hair cut!  He loves new... ANYTHING!  Even if its just underwear!

Started working on a camera strap Friday & still working out the kinks.  Think I got it this time.  No pattern & customized for a fab customer.  But.  I do now have a strap cover for my camera now.  Why I didn't have one before is beyond me.  This thing rocks.  Its minkee on the back to it is so SOFT around my neck.  And of course stylish.

I bought yet another pattern from the lovely LizardKing.  I love what she does.  Her patterns ROCK!
I am now able to make DIAPER covers for your little ones.  Yes.  They are TOO stinkin' cute.  The girly ruffle version is ridiculous how cute it is.  Can't wait to see it on a booty!  I am sure it will make it even cuter!

Hope you all had a fun fall weekend.  Next weekend I hope to get PUMPKINS.  I need to get moving.
