What I Wore Wednesday

Where did the last week go? Seems like I was just posting last weeks What I Wore Wednesday. I had the most crazy morning yesterday. Both of our cars were robbed in our small community. I am slightly surprised. But no. Not really. Nothing surprises me anymore. bah. Whats a 1,000 dollars at this point...?

So heres what I am wearing today.  I am freezing out at the bus stop this morning.  Funny.  It's going to be 82 degrees later today.  Too bad I am going to be here sewing away.  Four skirts & a dino.  Here we go...

Make It Monday: Pumpkins

Oh Monday! Here again, finally a good one. The littles tracked back in. It was a long three weeks. But we had fun, travel, pumpkins, the fair, sleeping in, movies, oh, did I mention pumpkins?

Last week I posted the coaster tutorial, where I made those super cute apple coasters, perfect for fall.  Well this week, keeping with the fall decor ideas I am posting some super cute pumpkins.  Yes!  Pumpkins.  The icon of fall.  Am I right?

Last year, I saw these cuties on a blog somewhere - so I take no credit for the idea originally but, totally wanted to share with y'all how to make them happen.

Here it goes...
What you need -

  • Toilet Paper
  • 16 x 16 inch square piece of fabric {Fall colors work best!}
  • Stick {Or a cinnamon stick would work too!!!}
  • Scissors

Place the toilet paper roll in the middle of the fabric.  If you have some newspaper you could wrap it first for a fuller look.  I have none.  - Fold each corner up & stuff into the center of the roll.   Stuff the stick in the center - bam - a pumpkin! {See photos..}

 Too easy.  But super cute.  Here is my living room table all decked out for fall.

Happy Monday.

Weekend RePlay

Weeks are flying by. Only one weekend left in October & it feels like it just started.  Well were back from our trip north.   As promised we had to be, couldn't miss the pig races at the fair this year.  Miss Emma {and the boys!} were so excited about the pigs.  Didn't know we would see ducks racing too!  Oh. Fun.

We go to the State Fair for the food & the gardens {and the pig race!}  We don't go for the crowds & the rides.  Ugh.

... And there you have our day at the Fair in pictures...

What I Wore Wednesday

Spent my morning in pj's cutting fabric for 16 {maybe more?} zipper pouches. Put away laundry & cleaned out Miss Emmas old clothes to make room in her drawers for all the new hand me downs. - Grabbed a quick shower & took some lovely bathroom mirror photos. ha.

Top:  You aren't going to believe this, its a hand me down from my {almost} niece Arianna.  Limited Too. bah.  Yes, I am that small I fit into the children's clothes.  I have been known to wear a couple of Cody's shirts here & there.  It works.   The blue is fun & the polkadots.  I am love. love. loving polkadots right now.

Bottom:  Khakis from Bass & Co.  So comfy.  Socks.  Yay.  Its sock season.  Target {or course!}  Not even bothering with shoes today, I will  be home with the littles all day.  Mr. L is on the road.  Work, work, work.  Make that dollar. bah.    Happy Wednesday. Time for me to hit the machine.

Make It Monday: Coasters

Time is flying by - as always, & I am trying to get ready for fall here. My house smells like fall, but that has been about it. Oh and the unnecessary stuffing face of all things - pumpkin. ha.  Of course I have a pumpkin coffee in hand.  Of course.

So this weeks Make it Monday is such fun & rather simple.  The fabulous xogigifabrics.com has been so kinda as to allow me to link up her tutorial for YOU.  And I just know you are going to love it.

First things first, head over to her blog & see the full tut here, then find some fun fabrics.  I went with fall ones, because I just love fall so much & I am in dire need of some decor around here...

I was pretty excited to give the whole fancy top stitch a whirl.  I never use all those fancy features that my machine has to offer.  Do you?  Now you can!  So fun.  - And then I went a little coaster happy.  Um.  I think you might too.  They are just so darn quick to whip up.  Now go.  Make something.  Also say hi to Gigi on her blog.  Her fabric is amazing & her personality is even better.   xoxo

What I Wore Wednesday

Eek. Its Wednesday, again. I've been working away getting orders caught up. A crazy task with three littles all home for track out. But. With Mr. L working from home now he is able to keep them busy for me to get things done. Yay to that.

Today I am wearing some comfy, peach as I call them, {Mr. L says PINK} pants from the gap.  They are a size 2 too.  So all these pumpkin treats & apple crisps aren't affecting my booty... YET!!  My top is from old navy & am loving the small dots & lace trim.  I have it paired with a comfy light cardigan from Old Navy, um its hot out there.  BUT.  Its so humid - I won't be out again until tonight for the baseball game!  Hopefully by then it won't be so bad out. hmm.  I have already started my fall porch decor.  But I have so much more I want to do.  Especially with our Halloween party next month.  I just love fall.  Don't you?
