{Make It Monday} Sewing Needle Keeper

Ah. Monday. Here is a fun & simple tutorial to brighten up your day.

Supplies:

Fabric {this is an awesome scrap buster!}
Coordinating Felt
Coordinating Thread
Sew in Interfacing
Sewing Machine

 Cut felt so that its a bit longer then your needles.  I cut mine at 3 inches squared.  Cut fabric & interfacing a bit bigger so that both pieces of felt fit and you have room for your seam allowance & folding it in a book style.  I cut my fabric & interfacing 4 1/2 x 8 inches.
Lay fabric right-side up on top of interfacing.  Stitch felt in place.  - Once felt is in place layer the second piece of fabric right side down and stitch around the edges of the rectangle leaving a 2 inch gap along the bottom for turning.
Trim & Clip Corners for easy turning.  Turn right-side out and tuck raw edges inside.  Pin in place. Sew around entire Sewing Needle Keeper to create a finished look with no raw edges.
You're Done.

Simple.  YesThese are so simple & you won't lose your needles.  I am always looking for a needle amongst my pins.
Love the idea - no time to stitch yourself one?  Or you just want one made by me.  {Aw, aren't you sweet.}  Well guess what!  I am giving one away.

I will choose a winner Sunday night, February 2, 2013How to enter?  Its simple really - just fill out the rafflecopter form & wait for the winner to be announced, here on the blog, on facebook & twitter.  The winner will be contacted and have 48 hours to claim the prize.  Thank You.

Writers WorkShop: What made you laugh this week?

5.) What made you laugh this week?

So, at first I totally thought it was just my mood.  Or this hat.  Or the person that had it on.  Ok.  I am on to something.  This hat was hilarious.  My husband put it on.  It is his after all - I am pretty certain I have never seen him wear it.  I wish I took a photo of him wearing it.  I have no idea why my husband owns a cowboy hat.

 {Sorry cowboys that read my blog.  Your hats make me laugh out loud.}

I laughed so hard.  I literally cried.  Yes.  It happened.  It was bedtime, sorta late at night, so I thought, maybe I was overtired.  Surely this cowboy hat purely being on a head,  you know right where it is supposed to be, could be this funny.

Ok - so, cut to three days later... we are driving back through some road construction and I spot a man doing his job standing around chit chatting in a freakin' cowboy hat.  I seriously burst out laughing.  Lucky for him he had no idea that I was laughing, in my little bubble known as a car.  That hat probably brings great joy to him while he wears it & I certainly don't want to take that away from him.

Photo: This hat made me laugh so hard... I cried.

Yes.  Back to this hat.  The one in the photo here.  Why does my husband own this hat?  I got the background story on it y'all.  Mr. L filled me in.   It was a must buy purchase while still in highschool at his hometown fair.  Him & a couple buddies all bought one.  He was sure to tell me, they were similar, not the same.  That makes it better how?

What I Wore Wednesday

The kids are back to school. Finally. Five weeks off for winter break. Ugh. But who am I kidding. It was amazing sleeping in. Especially now that the kids actually sleep in too - or fend for themselves. Whatever. So we are back. Its a little rough falling back into the routine. But I am sure it will happen. Soon.

I totally bought new pants last week, that I freakin' love - And I am not wearing them today.  Its crazy cold.  In the 20s out there.  So maybe next week I will put them on.  Eek.  They are PINK-ish!!  Come on SPRING!!!

Oh My Aching Uterus

We've all been there. Right. Maybe not. Is it just me? You get the "baby itch." It comes around a week before said period.  You start to think "how exciting would it be to have a baby in there."  "Am I late"  Start counting days n' shit.

Oh my ovaries.  They are screaming at me.  Oh my aching uterus.  Its saying put a baby in meNow.   Freakin'  hormones.

After a nice couple of blessful days wondering, "could it be?"  It happens.  Um My uterus & ovaries are pissed.  I didn't put a baby in there.  Mr. L didn't put a baby in there.

And guess what? My brain is ecstaticAt this moment I couldn't handle one more "Mommy, Mom, MOMMA, MOM."   I heard you the first fifteen times.  I am just not going to answer you right now, dammit.

Now give me wine & chocolate and leave me alone.

Remember when we used to hope our periods came. ha.  Typical woman.  Always wanting what I can't have n' shit.

 Reality always hits.  Usually on the day that they spill milk on the floor.  The dog drinks it up.  Then shits.  And the other kid steps in it.  Yes.  That day.  Reality.   I know three is it for me.  No really.  I mean that.
