Weekend RePlay {We Got Snow!!}

The last weekend of this two week on call cycle of craziness for Mr. L. And of course we get snow. In North Carolina snow means a couple of things, exciting, because we never get snow & 2 the traffic will be ridiculous.    Perfect time to not go anywhere...

 By Sunday afternoon the snow was just about gone.  Just patches here & there of where the kids had made snowmen.  The perfect type of snow really - Joy for a day & gone the next.   We made it out to do our library thing & grab starbucks.  A tall vanilla spice latte.  Yumm.  I juiced a bunch of carrots & used the pulp to make the yummiest carrot bundt cakes ever.  Realized I had no sugar & completely winged the recipe - Amazing.  I know there was a reason my maiden name was Baker. Yep.

On Sunday BB&CP also celebrated its 3rd Birthday so we had lots of fun with giveaways on our Facebook page.  Cannot believe I have been at it for 3 years.  Its been amazing, growing more & more each year.  I can't wait to see what all this year, 2013, has in-store for my little business venture.

What I Wore Wednesday {Neezy}

Ah. Wednesday.  Coffee. Yumm.  So last week I gave a shout out to my crafty fans friends for some accessories to spice up my outfit.  Sabrina of Neezy got in touch with me and hooked me up with this awesome hat.  I must admit I am not sure how I feel about me & hats.  My friends say it looks good.  Mr. L said it looks good.  So that must be a win.  He is always honest with me.  Like that time I wore my sweater, which I loved and he said it looked like I was in fourth gradeYes.  He said it.  As you can see he is very honest & um, open with his opinions.  ha.    - I am out the door with my crazy crew of three.  Oh.  And just to let you know.  Those are not duck lips.  Those are "do you like my hat lips."  Deal with it.

Mamas Be Setting Alarms & Shit

So I finally got around to making this little fox. He came out pretty adorable. But for the most part, I think everything that comes off my machine - is adorable. But, when I showed it Mr. L he said "thats pretty cute."   Come on gals - coming from a man its a down right win. Yes. I was totally ciked to show off this weeks basket of goodness & can't believe the response this week.  There may or may not be a fight over the fox tomorrow -- Mama's be setting alarms & shit over this one. Be on our facebook page at 9 AM EST, tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 8th. See you there.

What I Wore Wednesday

First off let me just say - you all should be happy I am wearing clean clothes. My washer has been broke since Saturday morning. The repair man is hopefully coming to fix it, finally, this morning. Yay.   Don't mind my mess kitchen.  Its the breakfast/coffee hour rush here.  And of course there is coffee making supplies everywhere.

 Emma did her best cell phone shot for me this morning.  Its a little on the blurry side.  But you get the point.

Make It Monday {The Lowry Kitchen}

This week we are featuring Serenity from The Lowry Kitchen. I checked out her blog - so many recipes that are healthy & easy for us moms to make.   Who has time to cook a crazy meal with three kids running around?  And the ingredients are "healthy", yet, not pricey & available in your local grocery.  {No running to a special market!! Yay.}   Once you stop over I am sure you will see lots you want to make.  Especially if you are hungry.  I made the mistake of checking it out when I was hungry.  I only wanted to make all of the recipes. But - at-last I did go with the Southwestern Chili.
 {Source: Simply Scratch}

We all loved it.  Well ok.  So my picky two didn't love it, but they tried it & ate it. ha.  We, the rest of us, loved it.  For reals.  So yummy.  Mr. L thinks next time it could be a little spicier.  Maybe some crushed red pepper & then two jalapenos.  hmmmm.  Making it again in a couple of weeks for a dinner party here.   It went really well with corn muffins.

So, here is what Serenity has to say:

...."My name is Serenity I’m a full time working mother, plus I also own a business on the side. I started finding it difficult to work all day and come out and have to slave over a hot stove every day. So I started thinking of ways I could come up with my own recipes and adapt recipes from other moms to help make my evenings a bit more peaceful and less crazy. And that’s when I started my blog .  I understand I’m not the only mother that faces these same daily challenges so if I could document the recipes that work well for us perhaps they will work well for you also. I’m a mom who strives to cook good meals for her family. I don’t like to use preservatives we don’t use HFCS, no hydrogenated oils, no fake sugar. I work hard to make sure what my family eats is good healthy fresh foods. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune and you don’t have to slave over the hot stove for hours figuring it out. Come and check out the Lowry Kitchen and take time to look around. I’m always adding new recipes or ideas.

I really want to try some of the sandwich recipes she has on the blog.  Maybe the kids would enjoy those?

So go - its Monday - Make Something Delicious today.
