Weekend RePlay {Memorial Day}

It was a long, but busy weekend. On Saturday Morning I whipped up a skirt, just for me. Yay.  I have had this knit here for a couple of days.  I washed it.  I bought the appropriate needles.  And then, it sat.  I think I was scared, at least a little hesitant on trying my hand at the jersey knit.  Not sure why, sewed just the same as any old woven cotton.  Lovely.  I even whipped up little Emma one, we wore them out the the bookstore.  Jack bought himself a series of 5 books & then proceeded to read every last one in less than 24 hours.  I guess they were that good.

The littles were invited to a POOL PARTY! So you know that was fun! Emma ranked it in her top two parties attended. ha.  Busy Saturday.

Sunday we had planned to have no plans. {That never works.}  Mr. L went to the gym, got home and asked if we wanted to go over to a friends house for a cook out.  So in our most flexible fashion we quickly grocery shopped & grabbed a simple desert to bring.  The littles had fun playing with their girls & we enjoyed a yummy barbeque.  Late Sunday night I whipped up some little mini cheesecakes, that were pretty tasty, for the next days get together. {See what I mean, busy!}

Somehow, someway, I squeezed in some  more PERSONAL sewing on Sunday morning.  Little Lizard King asked me to do a quick pattern test for her.  It was super quick.  Like 10 minutes quick. - Perfect.  A Swim Suit Cover Up.  I am always happy to help LLK out.

Monday we had lunch & pool time with friends.  - Mr. L was pulled away almost immediately for work.  Boo to that.  We are back to on call.  Those two weeks off are so short lived.  Monday night we grilled for dinner & the littles played outside - until I said BEDTIME!

Everyone loves a Monday night that feels like a Sunday night - but whats better, a Tuesday morning, that feels like a Monday morning - BUT - its Tuesday!  Woot.  One day closer to the weekend.

Our first weekend on the market without a showing.  It worked out for the best, as we were out most of the time & the house was a wreck with the three littles home for a mere three days.  Not sure what we are going to do if this place doesn't sell by the time track out happens on June 28th!  {We don't have summer, year round school!}  Pretty sure the lack of showings was due to the holiday weekend, people are busy & out of town.  And what realtor wants to show properties on there days "off" Hmm?

Hope you all had a fabulous Memorial Day & Weekend.  We sure did.

Weekend RePlay

Third week on the market - one house showing this weekend, no feedback as of yet.  House is still somehow staying clean, but not the sewing area.  I mean its not super dirty... and I always put things away when a showing comes up, but its a workspace, so yeah!  Hoping this week ahead brings showings & lots of productivity.  Keeping the house in order & having to stay flexible with the showings has made me a little less productive work wise.  But - I am not too far behind.  I am currently stitching up monsters on the embroidery machine.  Six for one order & 12 for another.  Busy, busy!  These monsters are super popular in the shop right now!

This week I had an order to try something new --- I adjusted my own tote pattern a bit to create this cinched purse.  I love it.  Such a fun new look.  And of course its chevrons.  Mhmm.  There are a few more of these in my future & perhaps a pattern one day soon too!  What do you think of it?

Of course you know we had a busy weekend full of baseball!  Friday we went to a birthday party for a couple of boys from the team.  A limo ride to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park was the highlight, being that the game was rained out.

Oh!  And how could I forget?  My Birthday!  And Mr. L & I celebrated 10 Years Married.  Where did the time go?  And how is it that the littles rode in a limo on my birthday & anniversary?  ;)

Saturday & Sunday we had away games in Smithfield/Selma area.  First win of the season with Knightdale Select!  Woot.   Proud of our Knightdale boys!

-- Lets make this week super productive --

Weekend RePlay {Baseball - Baseball & First Weekend On The Market}

Our realtor had high hopes wishful thinking, that we would have a showing this weekend.  We sure did!  We had two set up for Sunday evening!  After cleaning up the house and heading out {with the pug in tow} to baseball we got a text saying the first one was canceled!  Bummer.  The second one was till 5:30 so we went out to dinner with our baseball friends.  FUN!  Then I realized with my handy dandy app on my phone, for the alarm system I could see if & when someone entered & left my home!  Genius. --  Ugh.  What a let down.  The potential homeowners today only stayed for 5 minutes.  Could they even see the whole house in that amount of time?   We checked back in the system and saw the ones on Thursday actually stayed for 30 minutes.

Busy weekend.  I am tired.  Still managed to squeeze in time to stitch up 18 teeny tiny monsters.  Tomorrow they will be stuffed and on there way to Canada.   Excited to see what the week will bring for house viewings.  You guys.  I am home with three kids & a dog all week.  Mr. L has work lined up for almost everyday!  Oh!  And Jacks Birthday is in TWO days!  {I haven't bought him a thing!!!!}

Weekend RePlay {We Got Snow!!}

The last weekend of this two week on call cycle of craziness for Mr. L. And of course we get snow. In North Carolina snow means a couple of things, exciting, because we never get snow & 2 the traffic will be ridiculous.    Perfect time to not go anywhere...

 By Sunday afternoon the snow was just about gone.  Just patches here & there of where the kids had made snowmen.  The perfect type of snow really - Joy for a day & gone the next.   We made it out to do our library thing & grab starbucks.  A tall vanilla spice latte.  Yumm.  I juiced a bunch of carrots & used the pulp to make the yummiest carrot bundt cakes ever.  Realized I had no sugar & completely winged the recipe - Amazing.  I know there was a reason my maiden name was Baker. Yep.

On Sunday BB&CP also celebrated its 3rd Birthday so we had lots of fun with giveaways on our Facebook page.  Cannot believe I have been at it for 3 years.  Its been amazing, growing more & more each year.  I can't wait to see what all this year, 2013, has in-store for my little business venture.

Weekend RePlay

 What a crazy Crazy weekend. mhmm. Mr. L is on a on call rotation - every two weeks. The two weeks on call are a bit, um, crazy. But the paycheck is nice.  Fifteen hours of over time this weekend.  Somehow we still squeezed in some Christmas Shopping at Target - a trip to get gas for a mere, 3.01, gasp & a walk on the nature trail, with the littles, da pug & a cup of starbucks.  yumm-o.  I worked my booty off this weekend too.  Wrapped up all of my promised Christmas orders.  Go me.  No seriously.  Go me.  I was stressing out big time.  -  Wrote a list.  Got that shit done.  Boom.  Happy Weekend.

Weekend RePlay

Started the weekend off Saturday morning with a trip to the post & off to the State Fair Grounds. Mr. L wanted to check out the gun show. mhmm. The real one. Not my "guns." Well, the lined wrapped around the building & we thought that was just a bit much. Guns aren't that great.  -- The trip wasn't a total lose since the flea market is also held at the fair grounds every weekend.  We hit up the farmers market spots.  Browsed the antiques.  Grabbed 5 bananas for $1, 2 avocados for $1, a big ole thing of strawberries for $3 & some locally made pumpkin spice honey spread.  Thats going to be amazing on toast tomorrow morning.  Yumm.

Back home for some lunch before heading over to the North Hills for the Christmas Tree Lightning.  The crowd was big again this year.  We got there early.  Enjoyed the train ride around the shops & then grabbed a spot up close to the stage to see Santa light the tree with his magic dust.  The kids love it.

 {Photo Credit:  North Hills.}

 We even got to see frosty.  Oh and Rudolph & the gingerbread man too.  Such a fun time.  The kids really love going every year.  This year we didn't give into all the extras.  The crafts, the bounce house & the sledding.  YES.  Sledding in North Carolina.  They had man made snow & a hill.  Two at a time - 3 hour line for a 10 second ride.  I think not.  So, thats why we didn't give into all the extras.  We did the "train" {1 hour wait} and that was enough waiting for us.  Emma was a little disappointed... but nothing a trip to Five Guys can't take your mind off. ha.

Sunday - Spontaneously decided to do our family portrait.  I mean.  It has to get done.  Right.  No one is happy about it.  Whine, whine whine.  I freaked out "I do things for your kids everyday, the least you can do is take one freakin' good picture."   On off to Target we went to buy sweaters for the boys!  Back home to our own backyard, the tripod & handy dandy timer.  Mhmm.  Much less stressful then a 2 x 3 curtained off area at the department store.  Ugh.

Fenway was a real asshole this year.  The photos didn't go well.  But they work.  The job is done.

Editing.  Print & Send.  Boom.  Until next year...

Weekend RePlay

What a flash of a weekend. Saturday I spent so much time behind the machine. But for some crazy reason Mr. L thought Miss Emma & I should go get our hair cut. {We have been talking about it for weeks...}  So we did!  I ended up cutting off all 11 extra inches I had for my fifth time donating to locks of love.  Of course Saturday night involved FOOTBALL!   Boomer Sooner.  Check out the custom chevron tote I whipped up!  Even has a zipper.  Go Me.  What do you think of the new cut?  I am sorta liking it with the headwraps I make.

 Morning Coffee - Typical morning.  Snuggling with Emma & Jack.  My little sleep in undies.   So don't mind the topless look.  They are so silly.

 Sunday - today is going to involve the library & I am determined to get my hands on a pumpkin spice latte.
Hope your weekend rocked your socks off!

Weekend RePlay

Oh long weekends how I love & hate you so. Anyone else with me on this? I think yay an extra day to the weekend, then about five minutes after the kids walk in the door from school I think oh gosh... an extra day of CRAZY. Yep. Crazy. My kids drive me crazy. I said it.

 The whole weekend was a blur - Sunday felt like second Saturday, while Monday felt like second Sunday. Now we are working on second Monday. ha.  At-least its Tuesday or AHH.  Its already Tuesday.  Thats more like how I feel.  Tonight we have our first baseball game for Cody's new fall ball team.  I am counting on a loss.  But I am hoping for a win.

 I did lots of sewing. Trying to play catch up from last weeks craziness of Emmas dental surgery on Tuesday & Mr. L's job change. We did manage to organize the bedroom to have a little nook for him to work from & we got a new printer so we can print remotely to the office. Yes. Success. Sold several big items on craigslist. We still really need to have a yard sale OR better yet just go do a mass donation and write it all off at tax time. Either way the shed has got to be cleaned out, before the holidays get here.

 Candy Corn Skirts, Totes & Large Wallets all went through my machine this weekend.  I can't believe how cute that candy corn skirt is.  The cuteness is killing me.
Saturday morning Cody & I spent a couple hours on this math project.  He is super proud of it. It has parallel roads, perpendicular roads, quadrilateral building & other polygon shaped buildings.  Hoping for a good grade on this one.  Next on my to do list with Cody is a book report.  Didn't realize third grade was so rough.  While I love teaching & creating with my kids - what are they doing at school?  Yeah.  Don't even get me started on that.  I am about to pull my kids and go for homeschool.  ha.  If I thought I could keep my sanity.  Mommy needs quiet time.

Back to the machine. Hope you had a lovely long weekend.
