Christmas 2013

What a wonderful Christmas we had in our NEW home. The kids woke early - but they did as told... don't wake mom & dad until 7! They waited until 7:03 - go them! Then Cody somehow managed to get a sliver in his foot. I proceeded to spend an entire hour trying to get it out. No avail. Ugh. We continued Christmas Day with it stuck in his foot. {Don't worry dad got it out later!}

 The littles got all things they wanted, needed, didn't want, you know the typical Christmas Morning.  I spent the entire day in my pajamas.  Win.  My sister and her little family came over for Christmas Lunch & Calvin was here.  Side note:  So excited that the sweet W family is coming to live in NC.

Successful Christmas Day friends.  Now to enjoy every. single. minute of the Christmas Break.

Brag Much?

So the other night it was so nice out, I was enjoying my wine & letting the kids ride bikes!  Of course nice weather = neighborhood kids all come out of the wood work.  Ugh.  We decided that Jack would get his training wheels off {I know we are totally behind.}  He is almost 7! He was really rockin' it.  Didn't run into anything.  Well just me but I was trying to get a picture and... then... ouch!
 But back to the little hellion child from next door.  He is riding his bike & sees Jack getting his training wheels off & is all... "I have had mine off since I was 5..."  In my head I am screaming "Good for you you little shit!"  Outloud.  Nothing.  As he rides away down the road showing off.  I say to Mr. L ... "I should have said yeah, well Jack has been reading 150 page books since he was 5.  Not such hot shit now are ya?"  Ugh.

Two weekends ago we went to the library & Jack decided on Here Be Monsters a 544 page book.  I decided we could have a "Ice Cream Party" if he got it done in TWO WEEKS.  Last night he finished it.  Yes.  My 6 year old read a 544 page book in two weeks.  Brag much.  Um.  Yep!

Seems like it wasn't too long ago it was Jacks {First Day of School} though at the same time, I cannot remember it just being Cody I sent off to school.  Hmmm.   Just Crazy.  Isn't It?

Happy Sixth Birthday Jack!

-Jack turned Six & we found out he had "Fifths Disease."  So we don't know if for sure.  I didn't take him to the doctor.  

Was NOT willing to pay $75 Urgent Care CoPay - or $150 ER CoPay.  

Gotta love insurance.  - {Atleast we have it!!!} 

That said the following pictures of the Birthday Boy are rather "Slap Cheeked."

 Friday Miss Emma & I crafted up these cupcakes into a "Treasure Map" for Mr. Jack.  I was pretty satisfied with it... as was Jack.  But I really love how cute the "Treasure Chest" came out.  It is so cute. Right?

We started the day out with a trip to Best Buy.  Jack got to pick out his Wii game.  Guess what he picked.  The 25th Anniversary Edition of Super Mario Bros.  It has all four of the original games.  Old School.  

Mr. L & I even played.  How nostalgic.  {And it was cheap for a Mario games.} $29.99

 Can't believe "Jackie Beans" {Which we aren't allowed to call him!} is 6!  He is a smart lil' man.  

Despite the Fifth's Disease - Jack had an excellent Birthday.  How could you not?
